Raigarh, March 5, 2010: At least four persons, including one woman, were killed in Janjgir Champa district of Chhattisgarh after consuming spurious liquor.
Four persons, including one woman were killed and one person was serious in Baradwar area of Janjgir Champa district yesterday evening after consuming country liquor, District Superintendent of Police Dr Anand Chhabra said.
The liquor was being manufactured at the house of one Narad, a Scheduled Caste person and all those materials have been seized and sent for forensic test, where as he was admitted in a local hospital in a serious condition, police said.
The SP said the post mortem would reveal whether death were due to spurious liquor or not.
Among the dead, Pankaj, Vijay and Anil are rickshaw pullers where as the name of the woman is said to be Jhumri Bai.
Taking the matter seriously, District Collector Brijesh Chandra Mishra has asked Sub Divisional Magistrate S K Tiwari to probe the matter and submit report within three weeks.
