Dantewada, June 9, 2009: The Maoists on the second day today also targeted the CRPF and injured at least nine of them in a land mine blast, police said.
When a CRPF party, with their ration, was proceeding towards the Bhopalpatnam from Bijapur in a private vehicle, Maoists triggered land mines blast targeting them, Bijapur police said.
The incident took place at Bijapur Ghati, about three Km from the District Headquarters of Bijapur, they said.
In that incident nine jawans were injured and looking into the condition of two of them, they are being shifted to Jagdalpur, where the rest have been admitted at the Bijapur District Hospital, they said.
Only yesterday the Maoists have attacked two CRPF parties in two separate incidents and killed one jawan in Narayanpur district and injured one Assistant Commandant and two Special Police Officers in Bijapur district.
