Bilaspur, March 20, 2010: Law and Panchayat Raj Minister of Chhattisgarh Ram Vichar Netam today allegedly assaulted the Protocol Officer of Bilaspur District Santosh Dewangan.
Although the Minister said he had only expressed displeasure over the arrangement for him by the district administration, official sources claimed a different story.
The sources claimed to ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com that the Minister called the Protocol Officer and demanded a reply why his arrangement for stay was not made in the Chhattisgarh Bhawan and allegedly slapped Dewangan four times on his face
Shocked State Administrative Officer Dewangan immediately informed his District Collector Sonmani Borah and Commissioner R P Jain, the sources claimed.
Borah reportedly said he had not received any letter from Dewangan on the matter.
Some of the ruling party members have immediately informed the Chief Minister of the incident, BJP sources claimed.
Since the House is in progress the matter could be raised by the opposition Congress at the state assembly.
Netam was in Bilaspur in connection with the tour programme of the Chief Justice of India K G Balakrishnan
