Sarguja, September 22, 2008: Couple of months ahead of the state assembly election, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has announced to increase the retirement age of the employees of the Chhattisgarh State Electricity Board.
Instead of the retirement age of 58, the board employees would now be retiring at the age of 60, the Chief Minister said addressing a function yesterday at Sirsi village after laying foundation stone for Rs 7 crore residential complex for the Bhiyathan Power Plant.
Spread over 73 hectare area, the complex would have residences for the project affected people and also employees and officers of the 1320 MW power project of the CSEB.
Apparently trying to appease the people who are oppose to the project on threat of eviction, the Chief Minister said the project affected people of Masira and Lodhima villages would have rehabilitation villages in a 19 hectare land on that Sirsi residential complex.
The meeting was also informed that out of 387 land holders of both the villages, 342 had already received Rs 13.89 crore as compensation against their land.
