Raipur, September 23, 2008: The district hospital of Korba has created a history by getting the first ever ISO certificate among any public run hospitals of the state.
As per the new standard a patient need to be attended in the Hospital with in one minute of his arrival, where as all available medicines, services, programmes and schemes for the patients would have to be mentioned in the display board, Chief Medical Officer of the Korba District Hospital P R Kaumbhakar said today.
A new work culture and system had been introduced in the Hospital as a part of the ISO certificate besides imparting special training to the staff, he said.
Besides outsourcing some of the works of the hospital and computerising the OPD, as per the ISO certificate, it need to have four Intensive care units and three operation theatres and to fulfill that an ICU and an Operation Theatre are being constructed to be completed in six months, said the CMO.
The ISO certification was a step towards providing quality health services by the BJP government in Chhattisgarh and the new achievement would also inspire others in improving health care standard in the state, Health Minister Amar Agrawal said.
Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh and Agrawal have congratulated the staff of the Korba district Medical Hospital for their new achievement.
