Raipur, January 5, 2009: Both the top most civil and police officials of Chhattisgarh were missing from the officers’ gallery today when the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh was taking oath as a legislature here.
When the third assembly of Chhattisgarh was meeting for the first time today both the Chief Secretary P Joy Oommen and Director General of Police Vishwa Ranjan were not present in the officers’ gallery.
Normally on such occasions, like the oath of the Chief Minister, the head of administration and the police are present in the house but today both were absent when the house met for the first time also to elect the new Speaker.
Many senior secretaries, including Additional Chief Secretaries, were absent from the officers gallery, which was a talk in the corridor of power.
