Raipur, September 25, 2008: Chhattisgarh Governor E S L Narasimhan is seems not happy with the current practice adopted in the state for the forest officials.
The mind of the former Director of Intelligence Bureau could be read from his remark to the Indian Forest Service officials of 2007-2009 when he said “the Forest Service officials are mainly for the field duties”.
Narasimhan asked the trainee officials, who called on him on Tuesday last to opt for field duties saying instead of table works, the job of the forest officials was in the field and they should go for the later.
Many a bureaucrat believes it was a strong remark against the current practice in Chhattisgarh introduced by the Raman Singh government.
Whether in a sensitive department like Home, or a public oriented department like Urban Development, or even Culture Department IFS have been posted to do the “table works”.
Because of this, one of the civil servants from Uttar Pradesh had called up a state IAS officer and said he had an Indian Postal Department official, who wanted to become Finance Secretary of Chhattisgarh, and should he ask him to apply for a deputation to the new state?
