Raipur, September 19, 2011: Main opposition Congress today pulled up the BJP government in the state on its liquor policy and accused the liquor prohibition policy a farce.
The liquor prohibition policy of the Raman Singh government was a farce, Youth Congress said in a statement here.
Accusing the government of having difference in words and action, the opposition pointed out that one youth was beaten to death by the muscle men of a liquor shop at Siliyari last month.
Villagers protested opening of the shop after the death the youth and that was closed but with in month the shop was again given permission to sale liquor, the Congress said adding the opening of the shop reflected the stand of the BJP government in the state on liquor and its so called prohibition policy.
