Kanker/Raipur, January 30, 2012: Seven hardcore Maoists, including four commanders, today surrendered before the Kanker Police of Chhattisgarh.
Among the surrender Maoist leaders were one East Bastar Divisional Committee member Sunil alias Rajesh Kumar Matlam, Police officials said.
Partapur Jan Militia Commander Ramdas, CNM Area Commander Jenny alias Jayanti Koreti, Koyalibeda Area Commander Jaylal, and Deputy Commander Shushila and LOS member Ashmani alias Sanaya and one Platoon member Samo Mandavi have surrendered, they added.
When Sunil and Jenny are husband and wife, Ramdas and Sushila and Jaylal and Ashmani are also couples.
All the seven surrendered before IG Bastar T J Long Kumer, DIG Kanker Jayant Kumar Thorat and SP Kanker Rahul Bhagat
Police said it was a great achievement to the Kanker Police and also the result of the Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy for Maoists.
These Maoists were active in Panidobir, Koyalibeda, Antagarh, Raoghat, Keshkal and Korrar area of Kanker District.
