Raipur, October 31, 2008: Senior BJP leader Virendra Pandey today resigned from the party and announced to contest the coming assembly election from Raipur.
The state leadership in party and government was partial and not transparent, because of which he resigned from the party, Pandey told the ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Although he had immense faith on the central party leadership, which was the best one in the country, but the state leadership was not impartial, he alleged.
Pandey was the General Secretary of the state BJP and had also been known as a fighter against the corruption.
In December 2003, when BJP came to power, it was Pandey, who exposed the so called deal by the then Chief Minister Ajit Jogi to stop Raman Singh from becoming Chief Minister.
Pandey also clarified to a question today that the matter of his resignation was not confined to allotment of ticket to him alone.
However, he would be filing his nomination tomorrow from Raipur West, he said.
