Raipur, September 02, 2015: Chhattisgarh Mini Steel Plant Association today criticised the State Power Regulatory Commission and the state government over the increase in power tariff in the state.
Opposing the increase in power tariff, the steel industries have gone for indefinite breakdown strike since yesterday and the Re-rolling Association and the Sponge Iron Association have also come forward to support them.
To highlight their issues, they have also staged day-long dharna near Budha Talab.
Due to the breakdown strike, over 200 mini steel plants and 185 re-rolling mills have been closed down.
Industry sources said due to the strike the state government was incurring a revenue loss of Rs 10 crore per day, where as lakhs of industrial workers have been facing a severe crisis.
Ashok Surana, President Chhattisgarh Mini Steel Plant Association said they had several rounds of unsuccessful talks with the state Industry Minister Amar Agrawal, his officials and power regulatory commission.
The meeting with Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh also failed to yield any result, said Surana.
