Raipur, September 22, 2016: Pappu Farista, who was accused of mastermind in ink assault on current Puducherry Chief Minister V Narayanasamy has been taken back into Congress fold.
PCC President Bhupesh Baghel has withdrawn the dismissal of Pappu Farista from the Congress party, Secretary CPCC Media Department Sushil Anand Shukla said.
Pappu Farista was accused of mastermind in ink assault on October 19, 2010 when the then AICC General Secretary in-charge of Chhattisgarh and also Union Minister of State for Planning Narayanasamy was on a tour of the state capital.
Some youths threw ink on Narayanasamy when he was entering the Congress Bhawan. Some of the accused were captured by party workers and during investigation, they claimed on instruction from Pappu Farista ink was thrown on the AICC in-charge.
Congress party took a serious note of the incident and Farista was dismissed from the party within three days. Some of the party leaders that time claimed that Farista would never be taken back into the party fold for his act.
However, Farista was taken back into the party fold by none other than the PCC President.
Pappu Farista is known as a close confidant of former Union Congress Minister and a prominent tribal leader Arvind Netam.
