Raipur, September 03, 2023: Ruling Congress in Chhattisgarh today failed to reach a conclusion over finalisation of names for the 2023 Assembly election.
The PCC Election Committee met here for a longer duration and would again meet tomorrow for selection of names, Chhattisgarh PCC sources said this evening.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, AICC In charge Kumari Selja, PCC President Deepak Baij and others actively participated in the discussion.
The committee discussed in detailed. It was a good feedback. The party would fight the coming assembly election jointly, said Selja.
BJP has already released a list of 21 names, whereas Congress is struggling hard to reach a conclusion as early as possible.
It has been a difficult task in hand for the ruling Congress to retain the victory after a five-year rule of the Bhupesh Baghel government in Chhattisgarh. “Party is drafting a new strategy to retain power,” said Selja.
Election to 90-member state assembly will be held in November-December 2023.
