VB-G RAM G Scheme to Form a Strong Foundation for Water Security and Rural Prosperity

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today held a high-level review meeting at his official residence regarding the Agriculture Department and preparations for the ‘Viksit Bharat-VB-G RAM G Scheme,’ keeping in mind the possibility of scanty rainfall during the Kharif season of 2026.

      Raipur, July 3, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today held a high-level review meeting at his official residence regarding the Agriculture Department and preparations for the ‘Viksit Bharat-VB-G RAM G Scheme,’ keeping in mind the possibility of scanty rainfall during the Kharif season of 2026.

     Detailed discussions were held during the meeting regarding potential weather conditions and issues related to rural employment.

     It was informed during the meeting that the implementation of the VB-G RAM G Scheme began in the state on July 1, 2026.

      Under the scheme, rural families will now be provided with 125 days of employment instead of 100 days. The wage rate has been fixed at Rs 300 per day.

     Chief Minister Sai stated that top priority is being given to works related to water conservation, water security, the construction of water structures, and the preservation of natural resources under the scheme.

      Sai directed that priority be given to works under the VB-G RAM G Scheme that simultaneously ensure continuous employment for villagers and strengthen the state’s water security.

      He remarked that every effort made towards water conservation would serve as a foundation for the security of future generations.

     Sai stated that the state government is working with full commitment to protect the interests of farmers and rural families, safeguard agricultural production, and strengthen the rural economy. To tackle potential conditions, timely and effective action will be ensured through coordination among all departments.

     Senior officials from the agriculture, meteorological, and related departments attended the meeting, including the Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Subodh Kumar Singh, Agriculture Production Commissioner Siddharth Komal Pardeshi, Revenue and Disaster Management Department Secretary Shammi Abidi, Director of Agriculture Rahul Dev, Commissioner of the Viksit Bharat VB-G RAM G Scheme Taran Prakash Sinha, India Meteorological Department expert Gayatri Vani, and Director of Research Services at Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Vivek Kumar Tripathi.
