Raipur, December 26, 2023: In a major decision, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today approved a proposal to give free rice to poor people of the state for the next 5 years.
“From January 1, 2024 the people living below poverty line will be given rice free of cost for the next five years,” official sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
A total of 67 lakh 92 thousand 153 ration card holders would be benefitted from this decision of the Vishnu Dev Sai government, the sources said.
Immediately after the approval of the Chief Ministers, all the district collectors have been asked to properly implement the scheme, they said.
As a part of the “Modi Guarantee” the scheme has been implemented without any delay after coming to power, the sources said.
In the fair price shops the free rice would be available to the poor people from January 2024 to December 2028, they said.
