Rajnandgaon, December 8, 2008: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today defeated his nearest rival and Congress candidate by over 32,000 votes from Rajnandgaon constituency.
The BJP candidate Singh got 77230 votes when his nearest rival and Congress candidate Udai Mudliyar got 44841 votes and the Election Commission has declared Singh elected by a margin of 32,389 votes.
Twelve other candidates were also in the fray and one of the candidates got the lowest 88 votes where as the highest got 2879 from the dozen aspirants, Election Officials said
