Raipur, December 20, 2023: Senior tribal leader Nand Kumar Sai again resigned today, but this time from Congress party.
Nand Kumar Sai had recently joined the Congress party and had sought tickets from three different assembly constituencies. But was not even considered from one place.
To damage the BJP, just ahead of the assembly election, Nand Kumar Sai had left the saffron party to join Congress and was of highly praising the then Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel and his policies.
However, in a change of scenario, not only Congress was rooted out from power in the November 2023 Assembly election in the state but also its arch rival BJP was voted to power.
On the top of it BJP made Vishnu Dev Sai as Chief Minister, who hails from Jashpur district. After realising that Nand Kumar Sai again jumped side.
Sources claimed Nand Kumar Sai recently met Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai and requested for a secured future in the new regime. Although he had not been assured any post, but to protect a government accommodation at Raipur he switched side, party sources claimed.
In a letter to the state PCC President Deepak Baij, Nand Kumar Sai said due to certain circumstances, he had joined the Congress party and worked honestly also. But due to changed situation he is resigning.
