Raipur, December 12, 2008: Dr Raman Singh was today sworn in as the third Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh but he was facing difficulty in selecting his council of ministers.
It was difficult to select names for all the seats, but after coming to power it has become more difficult to select the names, who would assist Singh as his Ministers, sources close to the Chief Minister told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
Among others the sole criteria for making candidates was winability, but for selection of names for ministry, experience in governance and capability to handle any responsibility were also the criteria, the sources said.
Raman and his senior party colleagues are lucky this time as they have hand in experience to understand the people and their nature also and it would not be much of difficult to finalise the names, they said.
Meanwhile, party sources said the Chief Minister had been given almost free hand to select his team as it was his responsibility to run the government and for that he needs to have his choice of team also.
But there should be a balance in region and caste factors in selecting names, they said and asked in Raipur alone there are five aspirants for Ministership and if all are accommodated where others would go.
