Raipur, December 23, 2008: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh today said his government today decided to give bonus of Rs 270 per quintal on paddy but the scheme requires Rs 900 crore or even more.
The first ever cabinet meeting of this Government today decided to give bonus to farmers of Rs 270 per quintal, Chief Minister told reporters here.
However, the total amount to be paid to farmers as bonus would be at least Rs 900 crore and looking into the size of amount it has been decided to give the bonus in two installments, he said.
However, on the scheme of Re 1 per kg rice to poor, the Chief Minister said it would be started only after making budgetary provision for the scheme.
The BJP government was determined to implement the Election Manifesto in words and that would also be the road map for the government in the coming days, he said.
