New Delhi, July 16, 2024: Two new judges were elevated today to the Supreme Court of India.
Justice N Kotiswar Singh and Justice R Mahadevan were today appointed as the judges of the Supreme Court, a press communique from the Ministry of Law and Justice said today.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by clause (2) of Article 124 of the Constitution of India, the President is pleased to appoint S/Shri Justices N. Kotiswar Singh, Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh, [PHC: Manipur] and R. Mahadevan, Judge, Madras High Court as Judges of the Supreme Court of India,” it said.
“They were appointed in that order of seniority, with effect from the date they assume charge of their respective offices” the communique said.
