Raipur, December 27, 2008: The Government of India has decided to set up a new battalion of the Indo-Tibatian Border Police in Chhattisgarh at Raipur.
Top officials told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com today that the new battalion would be coming up at Mudhpar village of Tilda circle of Kharora area in Raipur district.
The Government of India has asked for 86 acre land from the state government for ITBP, they said.
A senior ITBP official is camping at Raipur for that project and state officials said the process to hand over the land is in its last stage.
Due to the strategic location of the state and the Left Wing Extremism have together brought this central police organisation to Chhattisgarh, the officials said.
