Raipur, January 3, 2009: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has given approval for setting up of a sophisticated DNA testing laboratory in the state, top officials said today.
The multi-crore high tech laboratory would be set up through the state Police Headquarters, the sources told ChhattisgarhTopNews.com.
The State Forensic Science Laboratory has been made the nodal agency for setting up the sophisticated laboratory, they said adding for the DNA testing Chhattisgarh is solely dependent on Central or state organisations.
Chhattisgarh would join a select group of states having the DNA testing facilities once the laboratory is ready here.
DNA is the abbreviation for deoxyribonucleic acid. It is the chemical at the centre of the cells of living things, which controls the structure and purpose of each cell and carries genetic information during reproduction.
