Raipur, January 18, 2023: Chhattisgarh government today directed all the gram panchayats to hold village meetings or Gram Sabhas on January 23 to discuss various developmental issues.
Director Panchayat Raj Kartikeya Goel has issued instructions to all the district collectors to hold Gram Sabhas in every panchayats of their respective districts on January 23, official sources said.
The income-expenditure statement of the last three months, execution and status of the resolutions passed in the last Gram Sabha, along with the developmental works being carried out by the gram panchayats will be discussed in the January 23 gram sabha, the officials said.
The proceedings of the Gram Sabha must be uploaded on the Vibrant Gram Sabha portal and GPDP portal, the government instruction said.
As per the Chhattisgarh Panchayat Raj Act, Gram Sabhas have to be organised with in every three months.
Gram Sabhas are being organised in January 23, April 14, August 20 and October 2 of every year as per the order of the state government along with on suitable and convenient dates of June and November months of every year.
