Raipur, January 8, 2009: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has said that the actions against both the former state BJP Presidents Tarachand Sahu and Shiv Pratap Singh were by the Central party leadership.
Since both are members of Parliament, action was taken by the central party leadership and the state had hardly any thing to do with that, Singh clarified to the media.
However, Tarachand Sahu came down heavily on the BJP leadership for his expulsion from the party and claimed the BJP leaders have become mentally bankrupt.
Otherwise the issues relating to Zilla Panchayat and urban local bodies of 2004 should not have been the basis for action against him, he said.
Sahu blamed the Chief Minister and senior party leaders Soudan Singh and Ravi Shankar Prasad for action against him by the party and said he would soon start a state wide campaign on the issue of pride of the locals.
On Tuesday last the central leaders announced that the Durg Lok Sabha Member Sahu was expelled where as Rajya Sabha Member Shiv Pratap Singh is suspended for their anti-party activities.
Taking the responsibility of the defeat of his former party candidate from Bhilai assembly segment and Speaker Prem Prakash Pandey, Sahu claimed for the defeat of Pandey he had the approval of the Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh also.
