Raipur November 25, 2024: About Rs 43.16 crore financial assistance have been provided to 1211 people of Chhattisgarh under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme after Vishnu Dev Sai becomes Chief Minister of the state, official sources said today.
Under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme, free treatment facility up to a maximum of Rs 25 lakh is being provided to the eligible families of the state for the treatment of identified rare diseases.
Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country which is providing such a huge amount for the treatment of its citizens, so that they could get better health facilities, the sources said.
Through this scheme a healthy and better Chhattisgarh is being built, they added.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has been considering positively for financial assistance for the needy people under the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme with the aim of providing better health facilities to the citizens of the state, the officials said.
Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme is being operated by expanding the Sanjeevani Assistance Fund to save the expenses incurred in the treatment of serious and rare diseases. The citizens of the state are benefiting from this scheme.
Official sources said, within 9 months, the needy have got help in 1211 cases under the scheme and during this period financial assistance of Rs 43 crore 16 lakh has been approved to them.
Under this scheme, Urmila Devi Sidar, a resident of village Parsa under Malkharoda block of Sakti district, is undergoing free cancer treatment.
After the death of her husband, due to her poor financial condition, she was not able to get treatment for this serious disease. In a way, she had also given up hope of living. In the initial phase, she got her treatment done with the amount received from Ayushman Card Scheme. But she needed even more money for the treatment of cancer disease.
On getting information about the Chief Minister Special Health Assistance Scheme she applied to avail the benefit of the Scheme and the assistance amount was approved in July 2024.
Presently, under the scheme, she is being treated free of cost at Raipur Medical College Hospital. Urmila said that chemotherapy is being done every 21 days for the treatment of her cancer and other medicines are also being given.
Without assistance under the Scheme, it would have been difficult for her for treatment of this disease, she said.
Urmila thanked the Chhattisgarh government for providing her support through this scheme in this difficult time in her life. She has expressed her heartfelt gratitude to state Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai.
