Raipur, January 16, 2025: At least 12 Maoists were shot dead today in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, a top police officer said.
“We have received information of killing of 12 Maoists in encounters with the security forces,” Inspector General of Police of Bastar Range Sundarraj P told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.
It was joint operation of the District Reserve Guard (DRG), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the elite COBRA battalion of the Central Para Military Forces in the forest area of Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, the top Police Officer said.
“Encounters are going on in different places of the Bijapur Forest area since this morning,” Sundarraj said adding reinforcement have been rushed to the area.
Security forces are engaged in exchange of fire with the Maoists since 9 AM today in different locations of the forest area, he said.
