Two Years of Sai Govt: Chhattisgarh Rapidly Moving Towards Holistic Development Through Welfare Schemes – Chief Minister Sai

     Raipur, December 12, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, at a press conference held today to mark the completion of two years of his state BJP government, presented a report card of the government’s tenure.

     The state government has fulfilled the opportunity to serve the people of Chhattisgarh, who placed their trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his guarantees, with complete dedication and commitment, Chief Minister Sai said.

     In these two years, the public’s trust has become even stronger, he said.

     Sai said that on the very second day of the government’s formation, approval was given for Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme for more than 18 lakh needy families. Paddy procurement is continuing at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal and 21 quintals per acre, making farming a profitable business.

      The Mahtari Vandan Yojana has become a historic initiative for women’s empowerment. Assistance of Rs 1000 per month is being provided to approximately 70 lakh mothers and sisters. More than Rs 14,306 crore has been released in 22 installments so far through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer), he said.

     In the interest of the tribal community and forest produce collectors, the tendu leaf remuneration has been increased from Rs 4000 to Rs 5500. 13 lakh families are benefiting from this. The Charan Paduka Yojana (footwear scheme) has been restarted, and free rations are being provided to 73 lakh poor families, the Chief Minister said.

     A transparent recruitment system has been ensured for the youth. The PSC (Public Service Commission) scam investigation has been handed over to the CBI, an annual calendar for competitive examinations has been implemented, and age limits have been relaxed. The recruitment process for more than 32,000 posts is underway, he said.

     A decisive battle is being fought against Maoism. In the last two years, 505 Naxalites have been killed, 2386 have surrendered, and 1901 have been arrested. Bastar is being brought into the mainstream through security as well as development, Sai said.

     Under the Niyad Nella Nar scheme, basic facilities such as rations, Aadhaar cards, Ayushman cards, housing, electricity, and roads have been provided to remote villages. Schools have reopened in Bastar, and events like eco-tourism, Bastar Pandum, and Bastar Olympics are creating a new identity, he said.

     Shri Ramlala Ayodhya Dham Darshan Yojana and the Chief Minister’s Pilgrimage Scheme are being implemented to preserve cultural and religious heritage. Rajim Kumbh Kalp, Bastar Dussehra, and the development of Shakti Peethas have been given new grandeur, the Chief Minister said.

     More than 400 reforms have been implemented to strengthen good governance. Effective monitoring of schemes has been ensured through the Good Governance and Convergence Department, Atal Monitoring Portal, e-Office, and digital governance, he said.

     A new industrial policy has been implemented for trade and industry. 231 provisions have been decriminalized, the Jan Vishwas Act has been implemented, and investment proposals worth Rs 7.83 lakh crore have been received so far. Logistic parks, air cargo facilities, and industrial parks have been established, Sai said.

     GST collection has increased by 15 per cent, resulting in a revenue of Rs 23,454 crore. Increasing the e-way bill limit, allowing 24×7 establishment operations, and opening GST offices in districts have provided significant relief to traders, the Chief Minister said.

     Rationalization in the education sector has addressed the teacher shortage. The National Education Policy has been implemented, smart classes, Vidya Samiksha Kendra, expansion of medical colleges, and MBBS education in Hindi have been started, he said.

     For the skill development of youth, Model ITIs, developing Nava Raipur as an Education City, state-of-the-art libraries, Khelo India centers, and sports promotion schemes have been implemented, Sai said.

     With the cooperation of the double-engine government, Chhattisgarh has witnessed unprecedented expansion of roads, railways, expressways, industrial and social infrastructure. The government is committed to establishing Chhattisgarh among the leading states of the country with development, security, and good governance, the Chief Minister said.

     Sai informed that infrastructure development has received unprecedented momentum in Chhattisgarh. In the state, work is progressing on railway projects worth more than Rs 47,000 crore, and the Kharsia-Parmalkasa railway line has been approved, which will connect the state’s major industrial corridors. Work is progressing rapidly on the expressway connecting Visakhapatnam and Ranchi. Additionally, 37 projects worth more than Rs 18,000 crore are underway for the development of national highways.

     Air connectivity in the state has also expanded significantly—Ambikapur Airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi, and new flights have started from Bilaspur, Jagdalpur, and Ambikapur. Budgetary provisions have been made for the expansion of the Jashpur and Balrampur airstrips, he said.

     In line with former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s vision for the creation of Chhattisgarh, the government is also paying special attention to cultural promotion—the number of programmes for folk artists has been increased, artists’ pensions have been raised, and work is underway towards the construction of the Chitrotpala Film City, he said.

     A subsidy is being provided on electricity consumption up to 200 units in the public interest, and under the Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, both the central and state governments are providing subsidies. The Chhattisgarh Affordable Public Housing Rules have been formulated to provide affordable plots of land to the urban middle and lower classes. Under the Jal Jeevan Mission, pure drinking water has been provided to more than 40 lakh families, and the Anjor Vision document has been prepared for the goal of a developed Chhattisgarh by the year 2047, the Chief Minister said.

     The benefits of this pace of development are visible in the lives of every citizen, Sai said.

     He expressed gratitude for the cooperation of the media and assured the public that the government will serve Chhattisgarh with complete dedication, and appealed to everyone to contribute unitedly towards the happiness and prosperity of the state.
