Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai gifts Durg district of Rs 739 crore of development works

     Raipur, May 31, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today presented Durg district with development projects worth Rs 739.38 crore, inaugurating and performing groundbreaking ceremonies for 251 public welfare projects.

      This includes the inauguration of 98 development projects worth Rs 362.46 crore, and the groundbreaking ceremonies and foundation stone laying ceremonies for 153 new development projects worth Rs 376.92 crore lakh.

     Addressing the Sushasan Tihar camp organized at the Late Jhadurram Dewangan Government Multipurpose Higher Secondary School Ground in Durg district, the Chief Minister said that good governance is not limited to formulating plans; rather, it is the government’s responsibility to reach out to the public, account for its work, listen to their problems, and ensure solutions.

     With this vision, the state government is reaching out to the public through the Good Governance Festival and presenting its report card, he said.

     Sai said that these projects will give a new direction to the development of Durg district and make the lives of citizens more accessible, safe, and convenient.

     Announcing the construction of a fully equipped joint district office building in Durg, he said that improved administrative infrastructure will ensure greater transparency, efficiency, and convenience in citizen services.

     The Chief Minister said that the Sushasan Tihar has been ongoing in the state since May 1st and will continue until June 10th in all 33 districts of the state. He said that through the Samadhan Camps organized in both urban and rural areas, not only are problems being resolved promptly, but the benefits of the schemes are also being directly provided to eligible beneficiaries.

     Sai inspected the stalls set up by various departments at the Samadhan Camp premises and said that the government is no longer limited to offices, but is working towards reaching out to the public and providing services. The camp included distribution of driving licenses to youth, nets to fishermen, Ayushman cards, MNREGA job cards, incentives to women’s groups, scholarships, housing approvals, and benefits under other public welfare schemes.

      He stated that the state government is committed to bringing positive change in the lives of the poor, farmers, women, youth, and underprivileged sections, in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantees. He stated that the government had decided to approve Prime Minister’s Housing Scheme for 18 lakh poor families in the state, and it is heartening to note that all approvals have been issued. Construction of all the houses will soon be completed, providing a respectable life to the beneficiaries.

     The Chief Minister stated that the state government has implemented the Mahatari Vandan Yojana to honour and economically empower women, under which an amount of Rs. 1,000 per month is being transferred to the accounts of mothers and sisters. He stated that women’s economic confidence strengthens both the family and society.

     Sai said that due to the strong will of Prime Minister Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chhattisgarh is decisively overcoming the long-standing scourge of Naxalism. He said that Bastar is now moving forward towards development, trust, and new opportunities.

     Referring to the Seva Dera established in Netanar, the Chief Minister said that villagers and tribals are being trained in tamarind processing, dhaki rice, sewing, and other livelihood-based activities.

     He praised the Chief Minister’s Kanya Vivah Yojana, saying that the marriage of Bemetara MLA Dipesh Sahu through a mass marriage programme is an inspiring message for society. He described it as an example of social sensitivity and positive public participation.

     The Chief Minister said that the state government is expanding e-district services to curb corruption and simplify civic services. Referring to the Bijli Samadhan Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, he said that the government is continuously working towards providing relief, convenience, and energy self-sufficiency to citizens.

     Sai said that the CM Helpline system is being made more effective to ensure prompt resolution of citizens’ complaints. He added that employees have also received special training for this purpose. Additionally, police, ambulance, fire, and women’s assistance services have been made more accessible through the 112 helpline.

     The Chief Minister honoured students from Durg district who secured positions in the merit list of the Chhattisgarh Board of Secondary Education’s 10th and 12th examinations, wishing them a bright future, and said that these youth are the driving force behind a developed Chhattisgarh.

     Sai said that the IT Park inaugurated today will open new doors of employment, innovation, and technological opportunities for the youth of Durg. He described it as a major achievement towards the district’s economic and technological development.

     Referring to the construction of the Nalanda campus and hostel in Durg city, the Chief Minister said that this will provide a quality study environment for youth preparing for competitive examinations and will prepare a new generation of youth for selection in higher services like the IAS and IPS.
