Raipur, June 6, 2026: As part of the ‘Sushasan Tihar’ Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today visited the village of Thathari in Sakti district, where he conducted a Jan-Chaupal (public meeting) under the shade of a massive banyan tree located across the Chaturbhuj Pond and engaged in a heartfelt dialogue with the villagers.
During this open-air meeting, the Chief Minister sat amidst the villagers to listen to their problems, gather suggestions, and obtain direct feedback on the ground-level implementation of government schemes.
Addressing the gathering, Sai stated that the objective of Sushasan Tihar is not merely to review schemes but also to ascertain whether the benefits of the government’s public welfare programmes are truly reaching the last person in line. He inquired about the status of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and the availability of electricity, water, and other basic amenities.

He announced that a state-of-the-art CM Helpline would soon be launched in the state, enabling citizens to register their grievances via a toll-free number, email, and WhatsApp. A system for the time-bound resolution of complaints will be established, and strict action will be ensured against officials found negligent.
The Chief Minister noted that funds had recently been transferred to the accounts of approximately 70 lakh women in the state as the 28th installment of the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. He emphasized that the state government is continuously working towards the economic empowerment and dignity of women.
Providing information about the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Yojana, Sai explained that consumers could significantly reduce their electricity expenses by availing themselves of subsidies from both the central and state governments. He added that opportunities for pilgrimages are being provided to devotees through the Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana and the Chief Minister Tirth Darshan Yojana.

The Chief Minister stated that rapid development work is underway in the sectors of education, health, roads, and infrastructure across the state, and that a new atmosphere of peace and development has been established in Bastar with the cooperation of the public.
Villagers shared their experiences regarding village needs, development works, and various schemes with the Chief Minister. Listening attentively to their demands and suggestions, the Chief Minister made significant announcements for the development of the region. He announced the construction of an Aarti Ghat near the Chaturbhuj Vishnu Temple for the convenience of devotees. Acknowledging the long-standing demand of the villagers, he also announced the opening of a bank branch in Thathari.
Directing the Collector to prepare and submit a proposal to the government for upgrading Thathari to a Nagar Panchayat (Town Council), the Chief Minister stated that the area would be granted this status in the near future. Additionally, he announced the approval of road construction projects for the region.

The Chief Minister remarked that the true essence of good governance lies in strengthening trust, dialogue, and participation between the administration and the public. He noted that the actual benefits of schemes reach the last person in the queue only when public representatives and officials directly engage with the people and listen to their grievances. He instructed officials to ensure the prompt, sensitive, and effective resolution of the villagers’ issues.
The villagers displayed great enthusiasm upon having the Chief Minister in their midst. This Jan Chaupal (public gathering), held under the shade of a banyan tree, became a memorable occasion for the villagers, offering them a direct opportunity to convey their concerns to the Chief Minister.
