Raipur, June 13, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for the Central Government’s notification of the Dharamjaigarh-Pathalgaon-Lohardaga new rail line project as a ‘Special Railway Project’.
The Chief Minister stated that this decision would prove historic for the development of the entire North Chhattisgarh region, including Jashpur district.
Sai remarked that a new chapter in Jashpur’s development is unfolding through the coordinated efforts of the ‘double-engine’ government. This project paves the way for connecting Jashpur district, which has long awaited rail connectivity, to the railway network for the first time. It will not only provide better transportation facilities for the local people but also impart new momentum to economic and social development.
The Chief Minister noted that Jashpur, rich in natural resources, tourism potential, and cultural heritage, would gain better connectivity to the country’s major economic and industrial hubs through this rail project. This will create new opportunities in sectors such as education, health, tourism, trade, industry, and employment, while giving a new direction to the holistic development of this forest region.
He stated that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Central Government continues to prioritize Chhattisgarh’s development. Efforts are rapidly underway to integrate the state’s remote areas into the mainstream of development through rail, road, energy, and other infrastructure projects. The Dharamjaigarh-Pathalgaon-Lohardaga rail project stands as a strong example of this commitment.
Expressing heartfelt gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on behalf of all the people of the state for this significant project, Sai affirmed that it would serve as a robust foundation for the progress, prosperity, and bright future of Jashpur and the surrounding areas.
