Raipur, September 23, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today gifted various development projects worth over Rs 135 crore to the Birgaon Municipal Corporation area.
In addition to inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for these projects, Chief Minister Sai announced new development works worth approximately RS 110 crore, keeping the area’s needs in mind.
Addressing the event held in Birgaon Municipal Corporation of Raipur district for the inauguration and ground-breaking of these projects, the Chief Minister remarked that Birgaon is a rapidly developing urban area.
He stated that there is a need to strengthen roads, drinking water supply, sanitation, sewerage systems, sports facilities, and other civic infrastructure to keep pace with industrial activities and the growing population.
The state government is working systematically, keeping these requirements in view. Over the past two and a half years, development projects worth more than Rs 160 crore have been sanctioned for the Birgaon Municipal Corporation area, he added.
Sai mentioned that the state government is moving towards developing a ‘State Capital Region’ that encompasses Raipur, Durg-Bhilai, and surrounding areas; Birgaon is also included in this initiative.
A roadmap for the planned, coordinated, and long-term development of the entire region will be prepared through the State Capital Region project. Birgaon will benefit from this in the coming years, and the development of modern urban infrastructure and civic amenities here will gain new momentum, he added.
The Chief Minister affirmed that the state government is moving forward with full commitment to build a ‘Developed Chhattisgarh’ in line with the resolve for a ‘Developed India’ (Viksit Bharat). Modern infrastructure is being created and civic amenities expanded in cities to ensure that the benefits of development reach every section of society.
By leveraging our state’s natural resources, human capital, and immense potential, we will collectively build a prosperous, strong, and developed Chhattisgarh, Sai said.
