Raipur, September 24, 2026: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today said that a ‘State Capital Region’ is being developed to ensure the planned and long-term growth of Raipur and its surrounding areas.
Sai mentioned that under this initiative, plans are being formulated to integrate the Durg, Bhilai, and Rajnandgaon regions with Raipur, aligning development with future requirements.
He noted that the State Capital Region would unlock new opportunities across housing, industry, trade, transport, and service sectors, emerging as a key growth engine for the state’s economy.
The Chief Minister emphasized that planned development is essential to transform rapid urbanization into an opportunity. Civic amenities, transport, housing, and other basic infrastructure in cities are being developed with future needs in mind, and the real estate sector will play a crucial role in this process.
Speaking today at the CREDAI Chhattisgarh StateCon-2026 event, themed ‘Building Developed Chhattisgarh,’held in Naya Raipur, Sai stated that the real estate sector would play a pivotal role in achieving the goal of a ‘Developed Chhattisgarh’ by 2047.
He observed that alongside the rapidly growing economy and urbanization, there is an increasing demand for modern cities, quality and affordable housing, and robust infrastructure in the state. The state government is continuously working to create a transparent system, simplified procedures, and an investment-friendly environment to foster the growth of the real estate sector.
The Chief Minister remarked that owning a home is a dream for every family; people from all sections of society aspire to have safe and comfortable housing. The real estate sector in Chhattisgarh has made rapid strides over the past two and three-quarter years. In the coming years, opportunities in this sector will expand further, driven by rising investment, industrialization, improved connectivity, and the development of new urban centers.
Addressing the gathering, Housing and Environment Minister O P Choudhary stated that under Chief Minister Sai’s leadership, the state government is fully focused on governance and reform. Continuous decisions are being taken to create a favorable environment for the industry, trade, and real estate sectors.
Chaudhary stated that registration processes are being simplified and made citizen-friendly. Technology-driven improvements have been implemented, ranging from document availability via WhatsApp to auto-mutation. In a move towards women’s empowerment, a 50 per cent concession on registration fees has been granted to women.
Significant improvements have also been made to the registration fee process for transactions where the property value exceeds the guideline rate, the Finance Minister said.
He remarked that the State Capital Region would become a key hub for Chhattisgarh’s future development. The government aims to ensure that urbanization is not limited merely to the expansion of cities but also creates new economic opportunities alongside modern infrastructure, improved connectivity, and civic amenities, all developed in a planned manner.
