Raipur, September 28, 2026: Sanju Devi, a daughter of Chhattisgarh and a member of the Indian women’s kabaddi team that won the gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games, met Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai at CM House today.
The Chief Minister congratulated and felicitated Sanju Devi for this historic achievement. On this occasion, he announced an incentive of Rs 51 lakh for her.
Sai stated that Sanju Devi has brought glory to Chhattisgarh and the entire nation on the international stage through her outstanding performance, hard work, and determination. Her achievement serves as an inspiration for the state’s daughters and young athletes.
He remarked that the talent in Chhattisgarh possesses immense potential. The state government strives to provide talented athletes with better training, resources, and encouragement so that they can bring laurels to the state and the country in national and international competitions.

It is noteworthy that in the women’s kabaddi event at the 2026 Asian Games held in Japan, the Indian team delivered a stellar performance, defeating Iran in the final to clinch the gold medal. Sanju Devi, hailing from Chhattisgarh’s Korba district, played a significant role in this glorious achievement of the Indian team.
