Kanker, August 05, 2015: Chhattisgarh Anti Corruption Bureau officials today raided the official premises of the Bhanupratappur Sub Divisional Magistrate.
A peon Ganeshram Shouri of the SDM office Bhanupratappur was today caught red handed by ACB while receiving Rs 10,000 from a patwari, officials said.
After the peon claimed he had received the money on behalf of his senior, the office of the SDM was raided, the ACB officials said.
Currently 2012 batch IAS Ranveer Sharma is the SDM Bhanupratappur and after the ACB received complaint of large scale corruption in the office, the vigilance team raided the premises, they added.
Police has arrested the peon and was inquiring the SDM, the officials said.
On hearing the incident villagers gathered in front of the SDM office and raised slogans against the IAS and praised the work of the anti-corruption bureau.
