Raipur, March 26, 2009: After a tussle with the former Director General of Police Vishwa Ranjan, the Election Commission has issued an order and said all the employees of the Police Department of Chhattisgarh would be treated as on deputation to the Commission.
From March 23, the date of notification for the Lok Sabha Election for Chhattisgarh, till the announcement of the result, all the police officials of Chhattisgarh would be treated as on deputation to the Election Commission, a state Home Department notification said.
During that period the police officers would be under the control, supervision and discipline of the Election Commission, the order said.
For making objectionable remarks against it, the Election Commission had recently removed the DGP Vishwa Ranjan and subsequently Anil M Naveney took his place as the full DGP of the state.
