     Raipur, November 06, 2012: Amid heavy security deployment, President of India Pranab Mukherjee arrived here today on a two-day visit of Chhattisgarh to participate in the State foundation day.

     The President arrived here this evening, police officials told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com here.

     Elaborate security arrangements have been made for the visit of the Supreme Commander of the Indian Defence Forces, looking into the Maoists activities in the state.

     Besides participating in functions at Raipur, Mukherjee is scheduled to visit tomorrow to Narayanpur, another hotbed of Maoist activities to lay the foundation stone for two residential school building for tribals.

     After arrival at Raipur, the President straight drove to the new Secretariat complex to inaugurate that, located in the Naya Raipur area.

     Later in the evening, the President would be the Chief Guest in the state level award giving ceremony, in which he would honour 22 individuals and three organisations for their outstanding contributions in 24 fields along with Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh. Governor Shekhar Dutt would preside over that function.

     Tomorrow the President would visit Ramakrishna Mission Ashram at Narayanpur where he would lay the foundation stones of two 500-seat hostels of the Tribal Welfare Department and an Industrial Training Institute Building of Ramakrishna Mission Ashram.

     After returning back to Raipur, he would inaugurate the new Integrated Terminal Building at Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur, before returning back to Delhi, officials said.
