     Bilaspur, November 09, 2011: Arunendra Kumar today took over charges as the new General Manager of the South East Central Railways.

     A Mechanical engineer by qualification, Kumar was previously functioning as the Additional Member (Production Units), Railway Board.

      He has several innovations to his credit in the area of locomotive and coaching maintenance and has been in charge of maintenance of a variety of locomotives, coaches and wagons over a career of more than 35 years both in Workshops and open line.

     Kumar has also worked as Divisional Railway Manager, Mumbai Central, where he had successfully managed maintenance and operation of all trains and infrastructure over Mumbai Division, including running of 1007 Suburban trains per day.

      He is an outstanding athlete and excellent Badminton player.
