     Raipur, November 08, 2011: Chhattisgarh Government today suspended the Chief District Medical Officer of Durg and four others after scores of people lost their eye sights in September Balod eye camp.

     After reviewing the matter, Health Minister Amar Agrawal today suspended the Durg Chief District Medical Officer Dr T K Agrawal, Eye Specialists Dr Prakash Joshi and Dr Aravind Kumar, officials said here.

     Two nurses K Shukla and Lalita Temre have also been suspended by the Minister.

     Taking into account the earlier suspension of Balod Block Medical Officer Dr Sashi Claudious and Eye Specialist C S More the total number of suspension has gone up to seven.

     An eye camp was organised at Balod from September 22 to 30, during which many patients developed complicacy and about 50 of them had lost their sights where as six are reportedly dead.

     Looking into the gravity of the situation, PCC President Nand Kumar Patel has demanded Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh to dismiss Amar Agrawal from the Health Ministry and adequate compensation to the families of the victims.
