     Raipur, September 22, 2015: The United Bangladesh Airlines has not yet repaired its flight, which made an emergency landing here on August 7, last.

      The UBD585 is waiting for repair at the old airport here, Swami Vivekananda Airport officials said.

      Three officials from the Bangladesh Civil Aviation Authority had recently visited Raipur and inspected the flight and submitted a report to the Civil Aviation Ministry of India, they said.

     Since permission from Indian authority have not yet been sanctioned for repair, the flight is lying at the Raipur airport unattended, they added.

     Meanwhile, Raipur Airport authority have decided to charge the Bangladesh Airlines Rs 4000 per day for parking and security charges since August 7, last.

     A huge machine Engine Intake was detached from the flight when it was over Gangpur village of Bemetara district in Chhattisgarh, about 80 kilometre from Raipur.

      “Surely the 164 passengers and eight crew members of the United Bangladesh Airlines had a providential escape on August 7 as initially the engine intake fell and then the flight was forced landed at a comparatively smaller runaway risking the life of the people on board,” Airport sources said.

      Due to technical snag the UBD 585 flight going from Dhaka to Mascot made the emergency landing at Swami Vivekananda Airport Raipur on August 7 evening.

     Initially the flight due to snag contacted the Nagpur Air Traffic Control and then Raipur ATC and finally landed at Raipur, Airport officials said.

     However, another flight came on August 8 and flew with the passengers, leaving behind the defective flying machine.
