New Delhi, September 03, 2010: The Election Commission today announced the poll schedule for Bhatgaon Assembly by poll and said election would be held on October 1, next for the assembly segment of Sarguja district.
After the announcement of the poll schedule the mode Code of Conduct was immediately came into force in the Sarguja District, the Election Commission said in a statement here and asked both the Chhattisgarh and the Central Government to respect that.
By poll in Bhatgaon was being held as on April 9 last the BJP MLA from that seat Ravi Shankar Tripathy was killed in a road accident near Gharghoda area of Raigarh district.
The formal notification would be issued on September 06 and with that the nomination process would start and that would continue till 13th of the month.
Scrutiny of Nominations would be held on September 14 and the last date for withdrawal of Candidatures is 16 September, it said.
Polling would be held through electronic voting machines from 8.00 AM to 5.00 PM on October 01 and counting would be held from 08.00 AM on October 04, the Commission added.
