Raipur, September 03, 2010: A huge controversy has been erupted in Chhattisgarh after the state Government did not mention the names of chancellor or vice chancellor of the Kushabhau Thakre Journalism and Mass Communication University in the invitation card, when a grand function was being organised for the University.

Printed Invitation had been issued by the Chief Engineer of the PWD Department for the inauguration of the new building of the Journalism and Mass Communication University and a statue of Kushabhau Thakre at Kathadih, near Bhatagaon, Raipur tomorrow.

BJP National President Nitin Gadkari would inaugurate the building and unveil the statue, in which Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh is the Chief Guest and the function would be presided over by Assembly Speaker Dharam Lal Kaushik.

In that function BJP Chief Whip in Lok Sabha and Raipur MP Ramesh Bais, BJP National General Secretary Jagat Prakash Nadda, PWD Minister Brij Mohan Agrawal, Higher Education Minister Hemchand Yadav, Agriculture Minister Chandrasekhar Sahu, Urban Development Minister Rajesh Munat, Raipur Rural MLA Nand Kumar Sahu, Senior Journalist Alok Mehta, Raipur Zilla Panchayat Chairperson Lakshmi Verma and Kathadih Sarpanch Hemlata Sahu have been invited as Special Guests.

Surprisingly the names of the Chancellor of the University and Governor of Chhattisgarh Shekhar Dutt and Vice Chancellor Sachidanand Joshi have not been mentioned in the invitation card.

Several employees of the University had not appreciated the missing of the names and said this would send a wrong signal among the people and the students about the university.

Students were also seen commenting against the invitation card.

However, the Government has preferred to remain silent on the issue.
