Raipur, November 24, 2022: The Cabinet, headed by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, will discuss a draft reservation policy for Tribals besides the data on OBC today.

Congress government in the state is feeling the heat of cut in reservation for the tribals after a High Court order although the Baghel government had blamed the BJP for the current situation.

To change the situation, the Cabinet would today discuss in details a proposed draft on the tribal reservation and if approved, will be tabled in the December session of the state Assembly, officials told ChhattisgarhTopNews.Com.

The Quantifiable Data Commission of Chhabilal Patel had also recently submitted its report on the data on OBC to the state government and that would also be picked up by the cabinet for discussion, they added,

The state government is also planning to bring in a couple of financial and legislative bills in the coming winter session and the cabinet will discuss that, the sources said.

On November 9 last Governor Anusuiya Uikey had approved a proposal of the Bhupesh Baghel government to convene a special session of the state assembly on the issue of cut in reservation quota for tribals from 32 per cent to 20 per cent after a court order.

The assembly session has been convened on December one and two to discuss that, the officials said.
