Raipur, September 17, 2012: AICC today demanded apology from the opposition for disrupting the proceedings of the house and leveling allegations against Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh.

“By disrupting the proceeding of the house, BJP has disrespected Parliament,” Union Minister for Commerce and Industry and senior Congress leader Anand Sharma told reporters here.

“BJP has also levelled baseless allegations against an honest Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh

“For that the BJP should beg apology,” Sharma said.

Referring to the multi-billion Coalgate scam, he claimed the Vajpayee led NDA government allotted coal blacks without any guidelines and bank guarantees and the UPA government had corrected that.

However, the BJP opposed in writing any changes in coal block allotment policy, he said.

“On this issue the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh will also be in the dock,” he stated.

However, he refused to reply to a question how without any recommendation of the Chhattisgarh government, the Centre allotted six coal blocks in the state.

The Union Minister also did not interact with the Congress men present at the PCC office and left.
