Bilaspur, May 03, 2011: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today filed a review petition in the Chhattisgarh High Court against the acquittal of Amit Jogi, son of former Congress Chief Minister Ajit Jogi, in the sensational shot dead case of Nationalist Congress Party Treasurer Ram Avatar Jaggi.
Jaggi was shot dead on June 4, 2003 near Mohdapara police station in the heart of the Raipur city when Ajit Jogi of Congress was the Chief Minister. After CBI took over the case arrested junior Jogi on July 01, 2005, and made him the main accused.
However, a sessions court of B L Tidke of Raipur acquitted Amit due to lack of evidence, when convicted many others, including some police officers on May 31, 2007.
Against the decision of the Raipur Court to acquit Amit, the CBI had filed the review petition in the Bilaspur High Court.
