Raipur, April 18, 2026: Chhattisgarh has been honoured with two prestigious national-level awards for its outstanding performance in the effective, transparent, and result-oriented implementation of the Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana.

Chhattisgarh was recognized in two prestigious categories as the “Best Performing Large State” during a ‘Chintan Shivir’ (deliberation camp) organized yesterday and today in Pune, Maharashtra, by the National Health Authority of the Government of India—and attended by representatives from all states across the country.

Chhattisgarh received these honours in the ‘High Trigger Efficacy’ category for the accurate identification and effective analysis of suspicious claims, and in the ‘Timely Processing of Suspicious Claims’ category for the swift and time-bound resolution of such claims.

Thanks to the effective implementation of an advanced IT-based monitoring system, a robust claim audit mechanism, and a trigger-based surveillance system in Chhattisgarh, significant improvements have been recorded in the timely identification and rapid resolution of suspicious cases.

Officials from the Health Department stated that improved coordination with hospitals and the adoption of transparent processes have enhanced the quality of claim processing and reduced unnecessary delays, thereby ensuring time-bound, hassle-free, and high-quality healthcare services for the scheme’s beneficiaries.

This achievement not only demonstrates administrative efficiency and technical robustness but also reflects the state government’s people-centric approach and spirit of service.

Expressing his delight over this achievement, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai remarked that the national recognition received by Chhattisgarh under the Ayushman Bharat scheme stands as a testament to the state’s transparent, accountable, and people-centric healthcare system.

He further stated that the state government’s objective is to extend free and quality healthcare services to the last person in society; to this end, healthcare services are being made increasingly effective through technology-based monitoring, robust management, and continuous improvement.

Attributing this achievement to the officials of the Health Department, healthcare workers, and all partner institutions, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that Chhattisgarh would continue to set new benchmarks in the field of healthcare services in the future.

Speaking on this occasion, State Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal stated that this honour is a testament to the commitment, transparency, and ongoing efforts of Chhattisgarh’s healthcare system towards continuous improvement.

He affirmed that, through the Ayushman Bharat scheme, the State Government remains resolute in its mission to deliver free and quality healthcare services to every last individual in the state, and that this achievement is the result of the collective efforts of healthcare workers, the administrative team, and all partner institutions.

The Health Minister expressed confidence that the state would continue to demonstrate such excellence in the future, prioritizing public service above all else.
