     Raipur, April 13, 2011: Raman Singh government in Chhattisgarh today approved an ambitious plan to construct 8500 Km roads to connect all the villages with permanent roads.

     A cabinet meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh, decided to connect the villages, which were not coming under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.

     The 8500 km roads would be constructed in three years time and the state government has earmarked Rs 100 crore for this fiscal, officials said

     For completion of the project the state may take loan of Rs 750 crore from the NABARD, they added.

     The tribal villages having a population of 250 and other villages with a population of 500 would be connected through this scheme.
