Raipur, January 08, 2026: The public grievance redressal programme Jan Darshan held today at the Chief Minister’s official residence in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh, became a living example of service, compassion, and solutions.

A total of 1950 applications were received at today’s programme. Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai listened attentively to the problems of citizens who had come from remote areas of the state and gave clear instructions to the concerned officials on the spot for their resolution.

Immediate financial assistance was sanctioned for several needy individuals, further reinforcing the message that addressing public concerns is the state government’s top priority.

Through the ‘Jan Darshan’ (public grievance redressal programme), Chief Minister Sai is not only listening to the plight of the person standing at the last mile but is also ensuring solutions on the spot. This sensitive and prompt approach to people’s needs, demands, and difficulties clearly demonstrates that compassion is at the heart of good governance.

In a democracy, direct dialogue between the government and the people is the true test of good governance. When public aspirations are guided by the Chief Minister’s compassion, the concept of inclusive development becomes a reality.

Today’s Jan Darshan programme brought new hope to the lives of several differently-abled individuals. Jeevan Das Manikpuri from Khamtarai in Raipur and Bharat Sahu from Arang were provided with battery-operated tricycles by the Chief Minister. A smile of self-reliance was clearly visible on their faces after receiving the tricycles. Now they will no longer have to depend on anyone for their movements.

Similarly, Chandu Yadav and Suman Sahu from Raipur were provided with tricycles and wheelchairs. Sagar Nayak and Umesh Patel, who had lost their hearing, were immediately provided with hearing aids, enabling them to hear the sounds of the world again.

Basanti Sao from Badetemri village in Mahasamund district had her biggest wish fulfilled at the Jan Darshan programme today. Basanti, who is paralyzed in her legs, informed the Chief Minister about her need for financial assistance for her treatment and her family’s situation. Showing human compassion, Chief Minister Sai immediately instructed the officials to sanction an amount of Rs. 5 lakh under the Chief Minister’s Financial Assistance Scheme. It is noteworthy that Basanti had previously received assistance of Rs 75,000 from the government. This swift decision brought great relief to Basanti and her family.

During the public interaction programme, the problem of Hanumant Rao, a 60-year-old unmarried laborer from Tatyapara, Raipur, was also resolved on the spot. Rao, who was troubled by his eligibility for a ration card after the death of his parents, narrated his plight to the Chief Minister. Sai listened attentively and instructed the officers present to immediately issue a ration card, enabling him to avail the benefits of government schemes.

The Chief Minister provided an immediate financial assistance check of Rs 20,000 to Raj Sharma, a 17-year-old differently-abled resident of Suraj Nagar Labhandi, Raipur, who is disabled in both legs. Along with this, Phool Giri Goswami was given Rs 20,000 as assistance for her daughter’s marriage. Immediate financial assistance of Rs 20,000 was also sanctioned by the Chief Minister for Om Prakash Nishad, a differently-abled person from Raigarh with disabilities in both legs, for his higher education.

During the public interaction programme, Sai said that this is not merely a process of receiving applications, but a living symbol of the government’s accountability towards the common people. He gave clear instructions to the officers to ensure that every application received during the public interaction programme is acted upon with sensitivity and promptness, so that no needy citizen has to wander unnecessarily.
