Raipur, July 13, 2009: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Dr Raman Singh has strongly condemned the naxal attack near Madanwada in which the Rajnandgaon SP V K Choubey and at least 25 policemen were killed yesterday.
Paying tributes to the policemen Singh said they had shown exemplary courage during fight against the Maoists and despite the huge loss, the morale of the police was still high.
On the ambush to the police party, Singh said naxalites never locked in a one to one fight and attack from behind, which was cowardice, inhuman and condemnable act.
In a major strike naxalites yesterday ambushed a police party and killed SP Rajnandgaon Choubey and 25 other policemen.
Initially Maoists killed two policemen in Madanwada area yesterday under Aundhi Police station. On hearing that when the S P was rushing to the spot with additional forces naxal triggered land mines blasts and opened indiscriminate firing on the police party, police officials said. In that incident the S P and 25 policemen have been killed.
