Raipur, June 09, 2025: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today paid tribute to martyr ASP Akash Rao Giripunje by visiting his residence in Raipur, who was killed in an IED blast by Maoists in Konta area of Sukma district.
Chief Minister Sai paid tribute to martyr ASP Akash Rao Giripunje by offering a wreath on his mortal remains.
He also met the bereaved family of ASP Giripunje and expressed condolences and consoled them.
Sai said that martyr ASP Giripunje has made the supreme sacrifice by showing indomitable courage, loyalty and dedication towards his duty. We are proud of him. The government stands with the family in this hour of grief.

Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Additional Chief Secretary of Home Manoj Kumar Pingua, Director General of Police Arun Dev Gautam, Additional Director General Anti-Naxal Operation Vivekananda Sinha, who accompanied the Chief Minister, also paid tribute to Giripunje.
The Chief Minister today postponed his proposed visit to Rajnandgaon in view of the Naxal incident in Konta and conducted a high level meeting to review the situation in a high level meeting of senior officials of the Home Department in his chamber in Mantralaya.

Sai took information from the officials about the IED blast carried out by the Maoists in Konta and reviewed the Naxal operations, official sources said.
He directed to provide proper treatment to the injured police personnel immediately.
Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Kumar Pingua, DGP Arun Dev Gautam, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Subodh Kumar Singh, Chief of Anti Naxal Operation Vivekanand Sinha, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat were present in the meeting.
Chief Minister Sai today met the personnel injured in the Konta blast at the Ramakrishna Care Hospital in the capital.

He enquired about the condition of the injured personnel and wished for their speedy recovery.
Sai also directed the doctors to provide better treatment to the injured persons.
