Raipur, February 21, 2011: Main opposition Congress today pulled up the Police Department for having failed to solve the sensational shot dead case of Journalist Sushil Pathak at Bilaspur.
The Congress party demanded a CBI probe into the incident in the Chhattisgarh Assembly and having failed to get a favourable answer staged a walkout from the house.
Former Deputy Speaker Dharamjit Singh of Congress today said the police in Chhattisgarh have failed to control crimes.
Joining with him former Home Minister Nand Kumar Patel of Congress said since the state had failed to solve the Pathak murder case of Bilaspur, the matter should be handed over to CBI.
Even after 55 days of the incident, the police had failed to arrest the accused, who are involved in the killing of the journalist, they said and after the state government, through Parliamentary Secretary Vijay Baghel, refused to order a CBI probe into the incident, staged a walk out from the state assembly.
